It’s been 2 weeks since we have been back from vacation, and let me tell you, the “vacation brain” is still present over here. I can barely think straight, let alone type complete sentences, so I am keeping this short and sweet.
My parents rented a house near Santa Rosa Beach for my dad’s spring break, and Karter, Violet, and I were fortunate to be able to join them. Santa Rosa Beach is about 30 minutes from Destin, located on the pan-handle of Florida. I’ve never been to that area of Florida before, but I’m so glad we went! I would go back in a heart beat. The beaches are stunning and SO clean! It’s very family-friendly, and wasn’t crowded at all.
We arrived on the Saturday before Easter, and on Easter Sunday, we went down to the beach to attend an Easter Service. It was so memorable! We were able to walk the beach after and take a few photos. Violet was sort of confused by the sand, but by the end of the week, she was loving it. After the service, we went back to the house so Violet could nap and open her Easter basket. I didn’t do anything elaborate – it was mostly filled with stuff from the Target dollar section. There was a stuffed bunny, a few rabbit themed books, bubbles, and some other odds and ends. We went to a buffet-style lunch with prime rib, smoked salmon, and some other yummy things at a restaurant on the beach that afternoon, and spent the rest of the day at the pool.
Out of everything in her Easter basket, I think her favorite item was this plastic bunny head on a stick (that probably cost me 99 cents).
On Monday, we decided to check out the beach and I’m sure glad we did! I’m usually a pool girl, content with a day or two at the beach, but this beach may have changed my tune. The sand was so soft, the water was clean and blue, and almost nothing washed up on the shores.
We were able to check out a few cool spots in Destin and along 30A, and Karter and I had a date night on Thursday while my parents had Violet. The rest of the photos I took on our vacation were on the beach. Obviously this is where we spent a majority of our vacation! Here are a few of them.
This picture cracks me up! There were two little girls playing next to us at the beach and Violet started smiling at them and before we knew it, she was crawling over to say hi! The rest of the day she played in the sand and the water with them. She’s such a social little lady for being 11 months old!
Here are the rest of the photos from our last day!
Now back to reality!
